We’ve been bringing our son to Cookie Cutters for about a year and have always been happy. Until our last visit. The stylist was rude and condescending when we asked if she could go shorter. Our son wasn’t acting out during the cut, but it looks like he took scissors to his own hair on top. On top of the rudeness, it’s not a good haircut. After she finished the cut, she was kind enough to provide information on what the clipper numbers refer to on a scale of shortness. My husband and I both agreed we wouldn’t return to Cookie Cutters

I am very sorry and concerned to hear about your experience. I rarely receive a negative comment and would appreciate the opportunity to fix the problem. Can you tell me who your stylist was or your child's name so that I can determine who it was that gave you such a bad experience? We are committed to offering additional training whenever necessary. Our haircuts are guaranteed for 2 weeks and I would also like the opportunity to make this right for you and your child. Please email me at minicuts@cccoh.com. My name is Alison and I am the owner. We truly want to make this right and make you happy. Our customer service is of the utmost importance. I hope to hear from you. Thank you.

I requested a hair cut with the stylist we have worked with on our last two visits. We were not informed she would not be there on 6/3. We would have rescheduled had we been informed. We had Liberty as our stylist on 6/3. The haircut my son received is awful. While she asked if it was okay, there was nothing she could do to fix it without continuing to cut his bangs shorter. My child was squirmy and fussy, however as a professional working at a salon catered toward children this should be expected. The haircut is uneven. His bangs are very short and uneven. The haircut cannot be fixed. We will not be returning unless we are guaranteed the stylist we request. A full refund is appropriate.

If this survey was strictly about the cutting service, it would be all "10s" for Theresa. Theresa Bateman is FABULOUS! My family LOVES her! The cuts, from Theresa, as always, were good. My answers above are about the service and treatment from the receptionist. The issue with your salon, lies squarely in the personnel you have manning your "reception" desk. She is deplorable! I have been a customer of this salon, easily, for 15 years, if not longer, considering the age of my oldest son. I've seen many receptionists over the years, and they're not often adept at using the computerized appointment books. Today, I was charged more, than I ever have been, and when I questioned the pricing, I was told, "that's not my problem, that's yours." Wow. That's not a very professional reply. 2 basic bob hair cuts, no styling products, nothing fancy. Your pricing structure is very unbalanced, especially when a "daddy" cut could be more involved than a "mommy" cut, and either of those are likely to be less difficult, than a squirmy toddler.

I am very grateful for your review. It is never easy to hear negative feedback but I am truly appreciative of the opportunity to fix the problem. We are actively looking for great receptionists for several of our locations and are really hoping that the right candidate comes along soon. In regards to the pricing of your haircuts, I would like to know more specifics so that I can figure out what went wrong and how to fix it. All of our kids cuts are $16 and have been for years. Were you charged something different? Please contact me on my email at: minicuts@cccoh.com so that I can get this taken care of. I look forward to hearing from you. Alison Celentano (Owner)

Now, I am not one to write negative reviews because I understand how that can impact a business. But I do need to speak out about this occasion. I’ve never been to the sawmill cookie cutters location before. I scheduled the appointment picking “any stylist” for my son due to me not knowing any of them. There was a woman that we met upon our arrival and she was sitting at the desk. I wrote my sons name down and she stood up without any introductions and asked what chair we wanted. I asked my son which one he would like to sit in, he pointed to one, we walked towards it and I picked him up and sat him in it. She walked right passed us and said “what are you thinking?”, pointing towards him. I told her the hairstyle I wanted for him. She looked at me like I was ignorant. She put on Netflix for him and she let him choose the show. Now, is where everything gets much worse. First of all, my son is autistic. He doesn’t need individual special treatment, but i would think for someone to have some general kindness towards him is at least the best they could try to do, as any parent would want their child to be treated. She started spraying water all over his hair, not trying to cover his face from it at all. Not the worst thing ever but he was visibly unhappy with it being sprayed in his face. She took the trimmers and trimmed around his ears, using clippers on the side of his head, scissors to trim down the top. But while she’s doing this, she’s pushing his head down with her hand over the top of his scalp, so he wouldn’t move his head. I offered to help hold his head so she didn’t have to be pushing his head down and she said that it was okay and she didn’t need my help. As if that wasn’t enough, she was yanking, pushing and pulling his head in all directions being VERY rough. Kept spraying water in his face while spraying his hair. I was already thinking to myself “We will never be coming back here”. I then asked “Are you going to be trimming down the sides more?” And she looked at me with her eyes squinted and said “I… wasn’t planning on it?”. And I said “I was just wondering, it’s all good!” and she looked at me and very rudely replied “If I trim the sides, it will be completely disconnected from the back. Do you want it disconnected from the back? It wouldn’t look very good” and I said “How you have done it is very cute, thank you.” She was looking at me like I was stupid. She finished up the cutting and took his cape off. Didn’t bother to put powder on his or white off any hair that was all over his ears and neck so that’s what I stood there and did for a couple minutes. I walked up to pay and she said the amount and I paid with my card. She handed over a gold coin high without saying anything and pointed to the surprise machine that you put it in. I told her thank you and we went over and got a little toy out of the machine and my son was very excited about it and I know from a different location that you also get a balloon so I asked if we could have one and she said yeah pick a color and take one so I said thank you again and I told my son to say thank you to her and he did and we left. When we got out side of the store, I asked him if he was happy with his haircut, and he said yes, and I was happy that he was happy. Thankfully, he didn’t notice the attitude she had or remember how rough she was being with him, but I was extremely upset and will never be going back there again. I thought I would let other parents know so that their kids would not be treated this way also.
