I was happy with the overall environment (the lady on the phone/who greeted us was SO pleasant!)--I love that my kids could associate getting their haircut with a fun positive environment. However our hair tech (her name was Dawn) was really NOT great with my two year old. I can appreciate that she wanted to do a good job and get it done right, but instead of talking my daughter through what she was going to do, she’d just jerk her head around and it freaked my daughter out. She seemed frustrated and impatient the entire time, and really rushed, despite the fact that (it seemed like) it was a slow morning—only one other kid in the salon. I am usually happy to pay the difference when I choose to go to Cookie Cutters vs Great Clips assuming that the tech tries to help my two year old feel at ease, not just focusing on perfectionism (bc lets be honest, she’s two and her hair’s a little crazy all the time anyways!). So that was an off putting experience and makes me feel like I might as well just try Great Clips and bring my own lollipop reward at the end.
