Normally I am very happy with his haircut but, we went to someone else this time bc the usual lady and back up lady wasn’t working this week. I asked for a hipster cut with a hard part on him as I always do (showed her a photo of his last visit simple enough tot really just needed cleaned up).... his top was hanging into his eyes I asked her to just get it off his eye brows so he could see when we were just chilling at home and it wasn’t styled.... first thing she does is cut a huge Chunk off the front! At that point there was no point in saying anything it had to be evened out I tried to trust the process but just kept cutting (its soooo short it’s not a booster cut at all ! ) then, she put the hard part in she shaved such a thick line like I don’t understand why she would do that ) normally id be fairly fine with it not happy but it’s just hair but this was for birthday photos I am so sad this is what his hair looks like for his yearly photos :( So while I like his usual stylist Melissa and will come Back to her... I do not recommend Dakota. (I wanted him to look cleaned up for his birthday but at this point no haircut would’ve been better. I can’t get this moment in time back now )

Our appointment was canceled due to illness of our stylist, which was fine. But I was not immediately offered a makeup appointment until I asked twice and insisted. Then when I showed up, we were the only customers with no one before or after us? Like they were trying to close early and didn’t want to grant our appointment. Then the stylist asked if we wanted a hard part, to which I said no. Then she proceeded to give my son a decent haircut except for what I can only describe as a botched hard part in his hair. It was like she messed up and kept trying to fix it, making it worse. I would like a full refund or the chance to get it made right.

first , I called at 2:25 left a voicemail for someone to call me back bc I was running late for my appointment No return call 📞 I called again 5 mins later, no answer I needed to know if 5-7 mins late was ok, but no return call back! I get there 10mins late , first credit card machine was down The lady named don’t no her name At the desk with glasses told my husband we only have 5 mins left on his appointment, and she sighed! This was my sons first haircut 💇‍♂️ husband said appointment seemed rushed Stylist Melissa cut my sons hair uneven on the sides This was our first time and it was rushed very disappointed ☹️ I am glad you took him in even though we were late! This was a magical moment now his hair is uneven!

From the moment she called our name to come back, she seemed to already not be in a good mood. She (unlike everyone else that we’ve been to at that location) didn’t allow my son to choose which seat he wanted to be in. I made a comment that he’d like to sit in the minion chair and she said he was too small so she picked for him to sit in the red car. Once she saw him squirming to get out of that seat she said we could change to the minion. I told her it was fine as we were already sitting and in a chair that we’d just stay. She turned around and faced the mirror and rolled her eyes. She then asked how we wanted his haircut. I told her I wasn’t sure of the numbers, but I know that Hannah had put notes on his chart from the past two times that we visited with her. She argued and said that there were no notes in his file. I explain to her Hannah found the notes on his last visit with the exact numbers that she used on him. She refused to look in his chart again to see if there were notes and instead we had to figure out again which numbers were appropriate for my sons haircut. I will be back but will make sure that I never have Chewy as the stylist.

I feel like the staff has no knowledge of how to cut black peoples hair. I only seen one black woman work at the location near the Dayton Mall. She works one day per week and it’s hard for me to feel comfortable letting white women cut my sons hair. More black employees would help.
