Hi, I am not one to take it this far and complaining about services but paying $40 for my boys to get a botched hair cut I have to. I didn’t go to school for hair and I’ve cut my kids hair countless times before and I still can cut evenly and blend and clean up the neck line in a straight line. My youngest hair, and mind you he is 4 and he sits still doesn’t talk he loves getting his haircut in fact he wants to go everyday, he has a calic (can’t spell) on the top of his head and they usually cut it down and blend it so it doesn’t stick straight up and it’s bad it’s like it didn’t get cut. The front is a mess as well. I can send pics tomorrow if need be. I don’t know I just want it fixed honestly but I also don’t want to pay another $20 on top of the $40 we paid last week. Otherwise everyone has always done a great job! Hate to be a burden of bad news but I just had to mention it, was told to mention it by friends and family who come here as well. Thanks for reading this through! -Brittany Tillema

We have been here at least 4 times and not once has our appointment ran on time we always have to wait between 15-20 minutes and I think its because they take walk ins in between appointments. Not only that but its really irritating that my childs haircut is interrupted multiple times because our stylist has to play receptionist and check people in, get a receptionist for fucks sake, As far as the actual haircut, I dont have any complaints your stylist was patient and kind with my child, although judging by my experience although she has special needs she was the most pleasant child of them all, and pretty cooperative.... Another suggestion would be to hide the sucker jar until they are done with the haircut, its annoying when you teach your child about delayed gratification, and waiting until they are done with their haircut and you see snot nosed kids grabbing one or more as soon as they walk in the shop.... thats my two cents..

I usually have decent service, and the stylists ability to give my child a decent cut despite the constant wiggling has been very satisfactory. That being said, my visit today did was just plain not good. I had set an appointment online for 11:15. I got there at 11:15 and was greeted pretty rudely by one of the stylists (she was not wearing a name tag, but I believe it was Melanie, who was also supposed to cut my son’s hair). She proceeded to sweep up her station and b.s, with the other girl there before she came up to “help.” She told me my appointment had been for 11:00, and that time had passed, so my appointment was marked “no show.” I showed her my confirmation email, which she refused to look at. She just told me I was late for my 11:00 appointment and walked away to have the other girl (Lashawnda) help me. Mind you, THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE IN THERE!!! Someone who insists I am wrong even when I have the email to back it up and then treats my son and me like gum on the bottom of her shoe definitely should not be in a profession where children are their customers, and their parents have internet and a voice to express their disapproval. Of note, Lawshanda ended up cutting my son’s hair and she did a very good job. FYI, an apology or even a “hey, no problem. We’ll take care of you!” goes a long way. In fact, not saying anything at all about the time issue would be the professional way to handle it.

The barber did a good job showing my kid the clippers before each use, so he could feel them. She'd ask if it was okay and he'd affirm. That was great. Being brand-new and walking into Cookie Cutters, though, was like sensory overload with no discussion or orientation. Cartoons were automatically turned on, when he cried and fussed a bubble machine was engaged. It's not like the cartoons helped when he would take crying, "Mama pick up!" breaks. I just would have liked the barber to explain to us what was going to happen, then she could have said, do you like cartoons, etc. I know it's different way of treating kids than when I grew up, but my kid get a lot explained to him and seems to do well with that. Again, as a first-timer, I think the experience should be more kid-centric. He's never been to a salon and this one has a slide! So, if our barber greets him, points stuff out ("you can do slide after haircut!") and gets him onboard, I think he would have done better. The selection of cars and a balloon were nice perks. The haircut was good, but she didn't even ask his name. Finally, the price was kinda high. :-/ For what it's worth, I feel a little silly giving this feedback, but you asked and i had a minute to answer.

Tried to give this place a second chance but this is the second time they have cut unreasonably shorter than requested. I told them my son just needed a trim around his face and to spruce up the top with some layers, keeping the back and sides long. He picked out a picture he liked and I showed it to the haircutter, but before I knew it she went way too short all around. Picture is what we started with, what he asked for, and what we got. Really bummed to have to start all over growing out his hair again. If you decide to go to this place and you and your kids prefer cuts with some length, beware they tend to cut short regardless, and they do it quick.
