I had a haircut with Jay today. He was great to talk to. I asked for a textured/choppy bob and he seemed to know what I want. I even show him a picture. However, I was surprised that my haircut look more one length bob rather than texture. It also seems like he didn't put that much effort in styling my hair to the way I want but rather just blow drying it. I am coming back on Friday for a balayage and will ask Jay to trim the bottom of the bob so it's more choppy, rather than one

I asked the stylist to take off half and inch and it looks like she took off more than that. She took quite a while to blow dry my hair and my hair is very fine so I thought that was definitely unnecessary. She also blow dried my hair flat against my head, which I did not think looked good.

I have been to Salon Joa before when it comes to my hair I loved it so much that I decided to go in for my nails I was excited because I had read so many good reviews and I also read on their website everything they did. I went to get a simple gel color on my nails and the lady that helped me recommend me to get dip powder so I was ‘sure why not’,well my nails didn’t come out as I expected and the lady that helped me seem like she didn’t know what she was doing she had to redo my nails about 4 times because she kept messing up. I really wanted to like this place because Danielle did such a great job with my hair and I wanted to make this place my go to place when it came to my nails as well. There goes my $60 dollars... also some of my nails look slanted how is that even possible.

I usually love salon joa. While the prices are a bit more expensive I’ve always had an amazing experience and come out feeling great. Tonight I did not have that experience. I was treated very well, as usual for joa. However, I paid for the more expensive Joa pedicure and did not get even close to my moneys worth. My nail artist did not make any attempt to cut my cuticles or to clean up my nails at all. I felt like it was just a quick surface job with a nail paint and wax. The wax felt great as always but I go to get a pedicure so my nails can be cut by a professional who can help with keeping away hang nails and making sure my nails aren’t digging into the sides of my toes. This was the same case with my manicure. It was all on the surface with barely any digging into my nails to get them cut and clean. I was also told after my nails were painted that it was a bit thick so not to get two coats but that it would be more than fine with one coat. I dried my nails for 20 minutes, and my thumb nail peeled immediately on my way home. I have always loved salon joa and will most likely go back, but will be specific about who I want doing my nails. I felt like highway robbery after paying what I did and not leaving with my nails cut and cleaned.

The environment was great and and the hair stylist who cut my hair was super nice but, I wanted an ashy blonde bayalage and a short cut. I was super excited about my hair in the store but once I got home and looked at my hair, it did not frame my face well and the color was not what I wanted. When I called back to ask for a retouch, I as told of I didn’t go back to the same lady I would have to pay. And I had paid already $300 for the hair. When I looked about the total for the hair on the website i saw that the total was at minimum $235. The hair stylist told me she’d do my hair for $50 so she had to have up charged me on the bayalage. Why? It was done in short hair. I asked a different hair stylist for a second opinion and was told that I could have gotten the color I wanted and that it seemed that the toner used on my hair was wrong as my hair is very brassy. So yes, I am super unhappy about what has happened to my hair especially at the price I paid for JUST the hair services.
