Today's visit was our best yet. It was the first time we've been seated on time. No receptionist, but the senior stylist handled things professionally. Besides the restroom needing paper towels, it was a good visit.

New stylist- not impressed. Two kids getting same service, this one took twice as long and she seemed unsure of what she was doing. Hair is cut- but if i wanted trimmers trimmers throughout, id do it myself. Questioned what she was doing once then asked for my critique at everything she did after, asking if this is right? What should i do here? I understand input is important, but if they are going to ask every little thing, then i could do it myself. I respect the stylists there- they put up with a lot! Been going for years!never had to specify stylists- they all are good- this changed my stance. Raquel and Melisa all day everyday!!!

It was frustrating because we had an appointment and when we got there there another mom with two boys ahead of us. The stylist that took them made a special point intaking them. They had an appointment after us but went before us and she took her good sweet time so she could chat with the mom. She could tell I was frustrated! Our stylist we had was very nice and did a great job. I have ran into this problem before and I feel like I might have to look at some place different to take my daughter. We had to wait 30 minutes. I have been a costumer for 10 years and now I have to go somewhere else. I understand it's hard to hire and all that goes along with it but they should uphold the policies. I have brought my son for his haircuts here about 4 times. He has never had an even haircut, though I understand a wiggly toddler is not easy to work with. I will say that his most recent cut was the best of any of the cuts he received there before. the stylist looked carefully at the picture I brought showing the cut we were hoping for. This was the closest we ever came. My main complaint is about the salon’s lack of COVID precautions. For a salon that caters to small children, I was very frustrated to see the lack of care in minimizing COVID risks in the salon. I did not see hand sanitizer any where, nor did I see any efforts to surface clean between clients. My biggest concern was the lack of masking. When you serve children who are too little to be vaccinated, it seems to me you would show your respect and concern for them by masking. When I walked in with my toddler, I was shocked to see the only people masking were two other customers - a parent and a child. When my son’s name was called, I asked the stylist to please wear a mask, because our son has some medical problems that put him at increased risk. She responded by aggressively saying she would wear a face shield, which I agreed to. When she returned with the shield, it was one of the tiny plastic shields that sits across your chin and only covers about 3 inches of your face. What’s the point? Those shields accomplish nothing. I didn’t challenge her on it, but she aggressively told me, “I refuse to wear a mask.” She then abrasively asked, “So what are we doing?” I didn’t say any more about the mask, and we were able to have a pleasant service in the end. I did giggle to myself that my toddler wore a mask without a fuss, but this adult made such a fuss.

I felt we were treated differently by a staff member due to our appearance/color. She did not bother asking my child what he wanted to watch and was rough with him. She did not cut his hair as asked. Disappointed. But cannot generalize the experience to all the members.
