We -- and our child -- love Cookie Cutters and have gone there for the past two years. However, the Dayton location is in need of better management. Once online booking became an option, we started scheduling our child's appointments to help ensure speedy service. However, the last time we arrived, we waited 20 minutes -- despite having an appointment -- and had to leave because it was clear we weren't going to be served any time soon. It's fine to take walk-ins, but you either need two hairstylists present (there was only one on this occasion) or you need to keep in mind if you have an appointment coming in the next few minutes, and therefore tell the walk-in they have to wait until after the appointment, even if that start time is a few minutes away. If you can't complete the walk-in's appointment before the scheduled appointment time, it shouldn't be started. That's the risk you take as a customer doing a walk-in versus a scheduled time. We'll continue to use Cookie Cutters, but I'd love to see it better managed and organized. The stylists themselves are always happy and helpful and do good work.

The hairstylist we saw was fast (not in a good way) — essentially used the buzzer super fast, trimmed a little hair of the top, pulled his hair up into a Mohawk, and said he was done. No actual “styling” — no part, nothing cleaned up, etc. I could have probably done this at home and did about an equal job. She flung hair all over me when she removed his cape and didn’t so much as acknowledge it. She also was not good at interacting with my son — hardly did so. His hair looks choppy and kind of like he has a bowl cut. Not thrilled.

There was no longer an option for a wash and cut which was disappointing. My one daughter has a side part and the hairdresser parted her hair down the middle and proceeded to cut it that way. If you have a young son or daughter with super short hair, this place is fun and gets the job done but with my daughters having longer hair, I can see the inexperience when I watch them try to cut their hair.

Besides the lady telling my two year old maybe next time he'd be brave enough to pick out a chair (he sat on my lap), she was quick and ok. Will start to ask for Sherry again for appts as she is the only one who has been really friendly and kind every time.

The hair cutting services are great and I’m pleased with that. I am disappointed, once again, with the customer service. I paid via debit card, my total was not stated and it was not displayed on the credit card machine. The woman at the desk charged me the wrong price. She said she canceled the transaction. She then asked me to swipe my card again in a separate transaction, again there is no price visible anywhere. I asked for my receipt since there was no way to verify how much I was actually charged. I was told I could not have a receipt. It seems as though a customer should be entitled to verification of a sale. If the store is unable to provide a paper receipt, an electronic version should be made available. I feel very uneasy about having my card run twice and being given no documentation.
