I was very unhappy with the service we received for our last haircut. The stylist kept giving my daughter directions (i.e. Look down, hold still, etc) and acted like she couldn't cut my daughter's hair without her cooperation. My kiddo has Down syndrome and isn't able to sit still and follow directions like her typically developing peers. It was a very uncomfortable experience for me. I tried explaining that she wasn't used to being given directions during a haircut but the stylist persisted in giving orders. Her hair cut was very fast with little actual styling. After we left, we discovered many long strands that the stylist missed and had to go back to get it fixed. As we left the second time, I apologized that she wiggled so much and the stylist said "well, we got it done..." like it was the biggest chore she'd ever dealt with! As a place that caters to children, I expect that you should be able to deal with wiggly children without making a big deal out of it. Prior to this, we've had wonderful experiences and fabulous haircuts from Cookie Cutters. I'm very disappointed today though:(. I'm not sure whether this stylist some training on disability etiquette or if she just needs training on how to deal with children....

I did not have a good experience with one of my boys haircuts. My sons hair was butchered and not done like I explained!

I have never had a stylist this impatient with my child. He was not being bad just slightly moved his head. The stylist kept telling him not to move repeatedly. I told her that he is only 3 and after that she apologized for “offending me” and tried to smooth things over. I spend more for a child’s hair cut to come to a place who specializes working with young children. I miss our old Stylist Savannah

The woman responsible for cutting my sons hair was abrupt, and her tone was not consistent with working with children. She was reactive, and had I been in her chair, i would have been fearful and uncooperative. Her directives were unclear, her language was rooted in shame, and she had little concern for making sure the child felt safe, comfortable, or heard. The salon was gross, the furniture was tattered/covered in hair, and did not have any of the same luster as other cookie cutter salons. His haircut was also absolutely terrible. She cut off our sons sideburns, cut his hair unevenly, and created an overall inconsistent cut leaving it sticking up. Would not recommend.
