I did not have a good experience with one of my boys haircuts. My sons hair was butchered and not done like I explained!

I was very unhappy with the service we received for our last haircut. The stylist kept giving my daughter directions (i.e. Look down, hold still, etc) and acted like she couldn't cut my daughter's hair without her cooperation. My kiddo has Down syndrome and isn't able to sit still and follow directions like her typically developing peers. It was a very uncomfortable experience for me. I tried explaining that she wasn't used to being given directions during a haircut but the stylist persisted in giving orders. Her hair cut was very fast with little actual styling. After we left, we discovered many long strands that the stylist missed and had to go back to get it fixed. As we left the second time, I apologized that she wiggled so much and the stylist said "well, we got it done..." like it was the biggest chore she'd ever dealt with! As a place that caters to children, I expect that you should be able to deal with wiggly children without making a big deal out of it. Prior to this, we've had wonderful experiences and fabulous haircuts from Cookie Cutters. I'm very disappointed today though:(. I'm not sure whether this stylist some training on disability etiquette or if she just needs training on how to deal with children....

We have been going to Cookie Cutters - Avon for three years. NEVER have we had issues until this visit. I am not sure what credentials the employees have but the young girl how cut my daughters bangs needs to go back to school. I specifically told her that I wanted her bangs to touch the top of her eyebrows because we have a wedding in two weeks. She started cutting and I told her it was too short. She replied "oh I am sorry, good thing is that they will grow out fast." Somehow by the time the girl was done my daughters bangs were more than half way up her forehead. I walked out of the store - leaving my husband and my two kids there in the vehicles. I have never cried over a haircut before but I was FURIOUS to say the least. I couldn't even look at my daughter that evening. I will NEVER go back even if this employee is not there. My daughter looks horrible and now I have to have someone professionally do her hair for this wedding because there is no fixing them.

When we went to get my 4 year old son's hair cut yesterday 01/26/2018 the lady who cut his hair Sara was very cold at first. My son is autistic and is very hit and miss how he is going to react during haircuts. Sara began cutting his hair and everything was going fine. A few times he would get grouchy and our favorite stylist Amanda came over to redirect him and keep him happy. After Amanda left my son got upset because he had hair on his face and it was itchy and Sara became annoyed and started rushing the haircut which made my son say "ouch" several times and also left many red marks all over his neck and face. When he started crying and wouldn't let her finish I took him to the bathroom to calm him down and Sara made my husband pay for the haircut and when we came out to finish our haircut Sara had went into the back room and didn't come back out for 10 minutes and when she did come out she acted like the hair cut was finished, so we ended up asking for the only other stylist there to finish my son's haircut. With my son being autistic it is very hard to get him to get a haircut and now after such a traumatic experience I worry that he will now fear getting his hair cut. While the other stylist was finishing my son's haircut Sara was cutting another child's hair and the little girl asked if she cou of go potty when Sara said "can't you hold it?" I'm not sure if she should be working with children with such little patience and a poor attitude. Hopefully she doesn't scare any other kids from getting haircuts and Kearns how to be a better stylist.
