My 2 year old is not the most cooperative as he is 2 and does not like haircuts. We usually see Paula but today we had Debbie cut my sons hair as Paula was not in today. Debbie was kind but seemed to not be equipped to cut my uncooperative toddlers hair. She unintentionally butchered his hair to the point that I do not think it’s fixable unless we buzz my toddlers head. I’m upset with how awful his haircut came out. I understand it wasn’t going to be perfect since my toddler was fidgety and uncooperative but it’s never looked so tragic leaving here until today. The buzzer/trimmer scared my son but Debbie insisted on using them to get his neck and sides behind his ears, it’s extremely uneven and choppy and so much is missing from random spots. And in the end Debbie said “it’s not worth it to keep going”. I felt like it was my fault he got a terrible haircut and I still tipped Debbie although I wish I hadn’t since I think she could have done better or stopped instead of insisting on using the buzzers. I’m out of $30 and HATE the way his hair is to the point where I spent the rest of the day in tears every time I look at the sides and back of his head. I truly don’t think there is any way it can be fixed unless I buzz his hair super short. I am heartbroken with this experience today. I don’t even think Paula would be able to fix this tragedy of a haircut.

I unfortunately was incredibly disappointed with our experience. Although the stylist, Lexy, did try I feel as if it was very a poor hair cut. I understands kids move which makes the cut difficult but that is why we specifically chose to go to a child friendly place. Lexy didn't touch the top of his hair, his back neck line was incredibly uneven, the back wasn't faded at all there where actually patches untouched and the ears were left uneven. I repeated myself asking to have things fixed with no change. Like I said i understand toddlers are tough but thats why i spent my money somewhere where I expect them to do a good job at it. I honestly wish I would have just done it myself.

My son has developed rash after getting a hair cut from this place, the itch persists even after 2 weeks. I will never visit the place as I think they do not sanitize combs or clippers/scissors. Very poor hygiene all around the place.

Response from Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids

Hello, I'm very sorry to hear that your son developed a rash after getting his hair cut at our salon. I can assure you that we disinfect everything after every child and a new cape is also used. I'm thinking your some may have had a sensitivity to the clippercide that is used to disinfect the equipment. Again, I am very sorry but the children are very important to us and would never do anything to hurt a child. Safety and cleanliness is our number one priority.

I’m absolutely sick to my stomach. Thank god I had Santa pictures done last week. First, I booked a shampoo and cut: without even wetting down my daughter’s dirty, crimped up hair, the stylist Tamara hacked off a few inches from the bottom. When I pointed out that it was all crimped, she at least wet it down with a spray bottle. I walked away to check on my son in the waiting area and when I returned my daughter’s bangs were cut very short at a perfect right angle over her temples. I had planned to ask the stylist to taper her bangs at the side for a face frame, as they were cut before we came in, but apparently my opinion didn’t matter because my daughter was indeed getting a “cookie cutter” haircut. Hopefully the stylist could tell that I was upset when I commented “wow, those are straight” because I was trying not to freak out my four year old. And at that point, no one can reattach the hair once it’s been cut off. So what could anyone do? Then at checkout they initially charged me for the shampoo, and I had to point out that it never happened. The girl at the counter offered to shampoo next time when we come back, and I pointed out that hopefully if I come back next time and book a shampoo it will actually happen. Not sure if we’re coming back at all after this disaster. At least it’s hat season for a few weeks while her bangs grow back out. I took her to a salon so that they’d be tapered professionally—I could have chopped them straight across like this over my kitchen sink. No, I wouldn’t recommend anyone to bring their kid here after this experience. Absolutely the worst experience we have ever had here—and we drive quite a ways for this kid-oriented salon.

We felt extremely rushed and the stylist didn’t listen to us when we said trim the back and chopped all his curls. I wanted to cry as we were leaving to be honest. Vety disappointed.
