I’m absolutely sick to my stomach. Thank god I had Santa pictures done last week. First, I booked a shampoo and cut: without even wetting down my daughter’s dirty, crimped up hair, the stylist Tamara hacked off a few inches from the bottom. When I pointed out that it was all crimped, she at least wet it down with a spray bottle. I walked away to check on my son in the waiting area and when I returned my daughter’s bangs were cut very short at a perfect right angle over her temples. I had planned to ask the stylist to taper her bangs at the side for a face frame, as they were cut before we came in, but apparently my opinion didn’t matter because my daughter was indeed getting a “cookie cutter” haircut. Hopefully the stylist could tell that I was upset when I commented “wow, those are straight” because I was trying not to freak out my four year old. And at that point, no one can reattach the hair once it’s been cut off. So what could anyone do? Then at checkout they initially charged me for the shampoo, and I had to point out that it never happened. The girl at the counter offered to shampoo next time when we come back, and I pointed out that hopefully if I come back next time and book a shampoo it will actually happen. Not sure if we’re coming back at all after this disaster. At least it’s hat season for a few weeks while her bangs grow back out. I took her to a salon so that they’d be tapered professionally—I could have chopped them straight across like this over my kitchen sink. No, I wouldn’t recommend anyone to bring their kid here after this experience. Absolutely the worst experience we have ever had here—and we drive quite a ways for this kid-oriented salon.
