Hair styling was good but makeup by crystal was terrible...I told her the foundation made my face darker than my neck and the response was we told have your shade.I washed my face once I returned home ,wasting $55.

I was so excited to have my hair & makeup done for the event I was attending this past Saturday night. I was beyond disappointed in the end result of both my hair and makeup. The person who did my makeup asked me for a picture of what I was wanting.... and then proceeded to completely ignore it. (Like for example, I wanted a dark red lip- what I got was a bright Barbie hot pink). My hair stylist was supposed to give me loose waves, and instead teased my hair to the point of it resembling a wasps nest. I walked out of there looking like a member of Jersey shore. I never spend money on myself & I’m so mad that I wasted so much money at this location. Both the makeup artist and hair stylist were nice & I hate confrontation so I didn’t want to say anything & honestly had no time for anyone to even attempt to fix the disaster that was my face and hair.

I came in for a haircut with almost 22"(wavy) hair and left with 16" bone straight hair. Imagine how it looks now that i washed it and curled. Yeah my hair is now just upto my shoulders. I specifically told my hairstylist not to reduce the length of my hair, but he still did it his way. I'm utmost disappointed with my hairstyle. He had me face the other side of the mirror while cutting my hair and did even check with me on the length. WTH! I never felt welcomed there and he and the staff are uptight with me the entire time i'm there. I will not come back here and i will not recommend anyone to go here. Oh, did I mention he thinned my hair without even asking me if I want to. I like my thick hair and this guy just ruined my hair.

I will start with the good. Chiamaka gave me a haircut and style and was absolutely amazing. She gave me exactly what I asked for and more. I highly recommend her for haircuts. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for my experience with the colorists, Sherry. I went to her in July of last year and asked for highlights to blend some clip in extensions I use occasionally. Instead she gave me a full foiliage and turned me into a blonde. Luckily, I ended up liking it and decided to have it redone this week before having a baby and newborn pictures done. When I got to the salon I showed her the picture of my hair after she had done it last time and the extensions I use, saying I wanted the same thing done. I reiterated several times what I wanted with an emphasis on how I ended up liking the blonde because it concealed my gray hairs better as adding color to my hair never lasts. Several hours later when the foils were removed and I noticed my hair did not look anything like the images shown, I found out she had done highlights and lowlights. She made a few excuses for why she did this, and offered to fix it to make it more blonde. I agreed only to discover all she did this time was add a few blonde highlights to my hair. The problem is, if she could NOT do the color I wanted, she should have conveyed that at the beginning of the appointment and asked if I would be ok with her plan for MY hair. Instead she did what she wanted. I find this extremely unprofessional, and it happened both times I saw her. When I called this morning, because I had been charged for a full foiliage and explained the problem, I was basically told that I could get a refund (I went this route and got 140 of the 290 I spent back) or could have her try again with my hair (not an option since it’s just more damage to my hair from someone who has shown three times she will not listen to what I want) I was told I could not go back to the salon since I was refunded money, which I wouldn’t have done anyway after this experience. I was also told that the colorist will try to protect my hair. Which I found laughable. I consider what she did damage to my hair since it isn’t what I wanted and to get what I want now from another salon could actually damage my hair. Now I get to have newborn pictures made with hair that I genuinely don’t like. In short, for the amount of money you spend ($290 for color, plus $45 for a gloss and $85 for the cut) I firmly believe you should be listened to and communicated with PRIOR to any service being done that CAN and WILL damage your hair. *the picture shows my hair after this most recent appointment (left) and the hair I asked for from last year (right)

This was my 3rd visit to Aalam salon and although I am pleased with my hair color and cut my appointment experience was not pleasant. The support staff's inexperience was apparent from the first wash of my hair and the application of the toner. They attempted to comb through my hair while the toner was worked in and ripped the comb through the knots hurting me in the process. When I offered to comb my own hair because they were obviously struggling and causing damage to my hair along with pain and discomfort to me, their response was "you are the customer and we are here to pamper you, you don't brush your own hair today". I did not feel pampered. At the end of the 5 plus hour appointment, my hair was not styled right the first time and Monsor had to redo it. I appreciate that the problems were corrected along the way but I am not scheduling my appointments to be a training subject. I left that appointment exhausted since I felt uncomfortable almost the entire time. This experience needed serious quality control to justify the premium price I pay for the services.

Stylist dont get to know you at all.she just started to do her work and I was going for a light brown highlights end up with same highlights (darker than light brown and yellowish) and an awful blow style. I thought it was a high style salon and they will know what to do but not really. Pay $300 for a service of $150 in other hair salon.
