Our hair stylist is great, had out haircut done by her before. She was patient with my son who isn’t the most cooperative. I am giving it such a low rating for enviroment because when I arrive I was greeted by a women holding a cigarette inside the store while she was on the computer. It made me very uncomfortable and was shocked for kid friendly environment this is deemed exceptable. I stayed only because she wasn’t the one doing my sons hair. However I will have to reconsider coming back here because of that.

Appointment for one cutter was switched to another. I'm sure the other cutter is fine, but too slow for my 3 year old. We basically got half a haircut.

Staff was very nice but got home and realized my sons hair was an absolute mess with chunks missing extremely uneven and parts were not trimmed that I asked. I am very displeased with the haircut especially for that kind of money.

Overall the experience was fair at best. The cost is high for a simple haircut and the staff varied greatly in patience. If you are in an establishment specializing in kids haircuts, you should be prepared to be quick and not sigh in frustration every time the child moves and when the become antsy after like 20 minutes. We have twin toddlers, one stylist was very on point and professional, the other not. I wasn't too keen on the fact she also ran out and was smoking in front before we even had the kids loaded in the car.

Overall, I was disappointed with the experience at the Cookie Cutters in Mahwah, NJ. When we walked in no one greeted us and we sat for 20 minutes after our appointment time before someone said hello and asked what we were there for. I did receive good advice for one of my daughters curly hair from Vicky, but then for my other daughter I was disappointed that BethAnn really did not blow dry her hair all the way through and we didn't look like we had just come from a salon.

Online appointment system is great, but the haircutters need to be aligned with scheduling. I asked for a specific cutter during appointment, who turned out to not be working that day.
